I went to the doctors today for a check up. I haven’t had one in a while. When I was with the nurse, she gave me a survey to fill out. One of the questions was “How often do you become depressed, or find yourself not fulfilled/not taking pleasure in doing anything?” It was interesting because usually around this time of year and once every fall, I do fall into a pit of depression. And those who say “well, you just have to think of all the positive things in life and bring yourself out of depression” But you see, sometimes that’s so much easier said than done. Some of us, we are not that lucky. Its not easy to pick ourselves back up.
I just finished watching the latest episode of “Dream High 2” (which I prefer so much more over Dream High 1) and I fell in love with Ye Eun’s self composed song “Hello to Myself” (Which is the song that Hye Sung composes in DH2) The lyrics just hit home. It is February 2012 and it’s cold. And I am asking myself “Where are you?” And this song brought tears to my eyes. In a good way. And JB’s smile did the trick too LoL.
On a more serious note: Depression is a very serious problem. My friend took her own life because of Depression. If you follow kpop then you know that many of those idols/celebrities take their own lives due to Depression. Please, if you ever feel like your world is crumbling down, remember, that there is always someone out there who understands you, who will give you their shoulder to cry on. I’ll offer my cyber shoulder anyday ;)
Stay happy and healthy <3
And enjoy the song =)
Lyrics:
“Hello To Myself” - Ye Eun (Wonder Girls)
Hello, this is February 2012, a very cold winter
Where are you - how close are you
To the dream that I wanted so bad?
Here, I’m still falling and crying again
I’m hurt and tired and have no strength to get up
But you would probably see me and smile
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you comfort me, saying don’t cry?
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you tell me that I can do it?
Hello hello - don’t cry - Hello hello - get up
How are you - how is it to fulfill your dream?
Doesn’t it hurt when you pinch yourself?
Or is it sometimes boring because it’s become a normal routine for you?
If you ever get lonely and tired, will you remember me, who used to dream here?
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you think of me here and smile?
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you be happy to the point where your heart overflows?
Hello hello, smile - Hello hello, just like that
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you think of me here and smile?
Hello to myself hello to myself
Will you not forget me, who used to dream?

*Angel and Woodman* - FT Island
Like an angel, you are blinding to my eyes.
Like walking on clouds, you walk so lightly.
You came down from the Heavens, where you were punished
and was caught in my eyes. This feeling like my heart stopped beating
I want to hold onto it forever.
Secretly peaking at you from behind,
I am a woodman.
You’re my only angel, a gift sent from the Heavens
I pray that the two of us live happily ever after
You are my only love. I will always make you laugh.
I hope that you forget about the Heavens above.
Don’t be sad
My heart is nervous that you might leave
My love must be lacking
Anything you want, I can do anything for you
You live watching me, I’m a woodman
Even as the days go by
my love does not change.
Until the moment I close my eyes, I will look only at you.
You are my angel, my one and only love.
I hope the two of us live happily
You are my love, I’ll never make you cry
So please live here with me.
I love you.
I am going to hide your wings forever.
Ever listened to an album and got stuck on one song? Leaving it on repeat for like, a year? LoL.
That happened to me with CN Blue’s “Love Light”. Maybe because I was so obsessed and in love with that oh so gooey love message in the song and the Yong/Hyun couple =) Anyway, today I was going through random videos on Youtube and fell upon “Y,Why” and am now in love with this song. I went to my Itunes and searched through my CN Blue music and low and behold, it was in there, 4 songs below “Love Light” in the Bluetory album. And the English version is in the “Thank You” Japanese album. Yay! =) LoL.
Enjoy
Over the years I’ve seen how the Hallyu wave has affected many people in America, Europe, heck all over the world. But there is a reason why these artists never make it in the American Music industry. It’s not because they can’t sing, aren’t good looking enough, or can’t speak English well. One of the main factors is because of WHO is promoting them and HOW they are being promoted. Take BoA for example. Her debut song “Eat U Up” is actually one of my favorite songs. It’s catchy, the dancing is sick, and she looks tough. If I were her, I would’ve SUED that lady who was in charge of her US promotions. Why the HELL did they change her tough concept to that “sexy” image. And why didn’t they just use or at least do something similar to her original music video instead of making that lame ultra CG music video that didn’t display anything appealing about BoA. They should’ve hired Utada’s promotion team. Seriously. Utada didn’t get a lot of popularity BUT she was good enough to hit the radio stations. People actually KNOW her name. And now, we see this pattern again with JYJ. I just want to ask them “Who the HELL is your promotion team? And why do they SUCK????!?!?!?!?!”
JYJ has yet to step foot into American Music Industry. Just because your original group (TVXQ) has a world record number of fans doesn’t mean you’ll succeed any where. Just because the boys work hard as hell to do well doesn’t mean that they’ll get anywhere IF their promotion team SUCKS ASS! Instead of targeting a large audience (because TVXQ/JYJ has a large number of international fans that are NOT Korean or even Asian for that matter) why are they NOT targeting those people? Why set up a concert in Hawaii only to cancel it when you finally notice that the ticket sales are doing poorly? Why not set up a concert in Chicago? I bet they’ll be more successful. And why did they CG their whole music video? In all honesty, since JYJ has been handed down to their US promotion team, they’ve lost their touch of uniqueness and QUALITY that they had when they were in Korea/Japan or even when TVXQ was together as a whole. Its as though the US promotion team doesn’t give a crap about quality. It makes me sad to see these amazing artists lose their touch because their promotion team SUCKS ASS! .. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see if JYJ actually makes it here. Good luck to them.
Jung Ji Hoon.
One of Korea and Asia’s Biggest and most popular stars who has managed to reach out to the U.S. … just a bit. =)
I’ve been a big fan of Rain’s since his It’s Raining days. He’s an all around guy, doing modeling, acting, singing, CEO of his own entertainment company, and he even dances. =]
There hasn’t been an album yet, though, that I LOVE. Until his latest mini album “Back to Basics” came out. And I absolutely LOVE it. It’s exactly what the album title says: going back to the basics of music. Love it. Love the old school feel to the songs. I first cringed at “Hip Song” but after getting over the lyrics, the beat is pretty hot. And of course, so is Rain. ^^ But the only thing I’m against is his weird concept with the long hair and the long fake bottom lashes. lol.. really now? but other than that, I LOVE all the songs on the album. Although many will cringe at the lyrics of the English version of Love Song, I actually give Rain props for being able to create English lyrics to this song especially since he isn’t a native English speaker. I don’t think I would ever be able to write Korean lyrics. xP. The album consist of:
1. Love song (song to bring you back)
2. Hip Song
3. One
4. Same
5. Love song (english version)
I wouldn’t mind auditioning for J.Tunes Entertainment. It seems like a prospering company if he continues to run it correctly. I also love his clothing line 6 to 5. <3.
Check him out on Youtube. =]
